Evolution of Blogging

I enjoy reading thought provoking posts. More so considering those are few and far between on the internet.
Much of popular content on the web is around tutorials and ‘how- to’ type content. However, they are transient and have little commentary on deep think. And this is one reason I shy away from creating content around tutorials or platforms in particular.
And if one of the posts is from an influential bloggerati, it does elicit a lot of interest from users. As is the case with this post from Om Malik …

B2B marketing is easy. Eat Grasshoppers. (A case study to chew on- literally!)

What do you do when you have to market a business category that is cluttered, boring and deals with penny-pinching start-ups and cash starved small businesses?
Easy. Cut the clutter, make it interesting and create buzz. Yeah. Sure. And if wishes were horses, we’d all be riding.
Or as in this case- “If wishes were grasshoppers- we’d be coating them in chocolates and eating them”

Mobile Marketing- perspectives from the industry

Leading to the MMA Mobile Marketing Forum Asia, I BrainStormed with Colin Miles, Co-Founder of i-Pop. Some gems from the discussion:
*If any youth campaign doesn’t have mobile front then it’s not a gap it’s a yawning chasm;
*For Southeast Asia-> Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand are deemed to lead, in that order;
*Recession? We have seen no downturn in requests for proposals;
*Direct to consumer relationships is not a feature- it is a fundamental change!

Late at night. But this is too cool a news to resist blogging at this hour. Read a news on Brand Republic Asia about IDA Singapore having freshly released some numbers for the Internet penetration in Singapore- and they suggest that Singapore becomes the most wired nation in the world- with 99.9% penetration! They also go on to quote Comscore that Singapore has the highest social netwrking penetration with 74% + online users having visited a SNW in Dec.
Singapore now ranks ahead of some of the world’s most connected countries …
