Dell Swarm- the problems with it and some solutions- Part 1

After years of Demand Generation Marketing focus, Dell has, over the past few years, come up with some great initiatives at engaging prospects and customers. As a matter of fact, they have tasted a lot of success in the recent years with their Social Media initiatives, paved the way for an integrated agency structure of the future and many more pioneering marketing efforts.
But I had felt something was amiss with the good pilot initiative of Dell Swarm. A little background and some details

Is the world a more dangerous place? Part 1

Everybody wants to rule the world. Bad moon rising. Pagan baby.
Some unforgettable classics.
Yet when you use them to refer to today’s current affairs and socio-political scenario, the situation leaves a lot to be desired. Some factors that I think are slowly reshaping the coming ages would be. The world might not be the same anymore.

Real life Social Media- lessons learnt from Paris Hilton and Archie comics

I don’t have much in common with Ms Hilton. If I ran a show like my new BFF, I’d probably have to bribe my friends to be contestants. But then there are lessons to be learnt everywhere. Even in Archie comics for that matter. Some escapades of dealing with people who talk about Social Media in their professions but at a loss when it comes to practicing what they preach.

Rise of the Micro-Influencer- Part 2

I wrote about Micro-Influencers in the previous post.
Who are these guys? And what is their “Circle of Influence?” Are you one of them?
These guys need not have a direct influence on millions. Or even thousands. They can have a following of a few hundred. That’s enough. Enough to have the influence that matters- in today’s communication overdosed, narrowly fragmented era.
Read on to find out how YOU might be a micro-influencer in your own right.

Rise of the micro-influencer Part 1

This is an article I wrote about two months ago, and saved as drafts. While clearing the cobwebs off my blogzine, I realized this might be something that has been touched upon many a times ever since (or before), but still has merit in the sense that the story is told in a different way- and touches a different aspect. Let me know what you think. This was recently also covered in iMediaConnection, a mouthpiece on Digital Marketing, albeit I am also using the detailed version of the story here.

Read this article on Marketing Interactive online:
The crux of a survey they did (Feb 2009):

Question asked:

“Given the state of the world economy what do you think agencies should be most focused on right now?”

Answers

2009 will be the year agencies concentrate on relationships and keeping their businesses running
68% of the 370 participants answered “client relationships”, while a further 30% answered “cash flow”
The remaining said creative awards and creative rankings were their top priority, or should be any agency’s top priority, during the downturn.

My comment posted on the magazine:
Surprised me that not …

Now I do not know how to read or write (say) Thai or Mandarin. I only know Hindi. So I tried checking Hindi translation of the site. What followed got me Laughing my ass off and rolling on the floor with laughter (Try translating this)
For those readers, who understand Hindi- here are some screenshots:

Well let me be honest- it is a good try. While technology has corrupted and ‘insensitivized’ me …
