Hi there!

My name is Shalabh Pandey.

Shalabh in Sanskrit means one who is attracted towards fire. Quite literally, it means a ‘moth’ (there goes the glory!)- but figuratively it depicts an insanely curious attitude leading to chasing dangerous pursuits in the hope of getting the right answer.

I am passionately interested in Digital (fixed web/internet and mobile) Media, Marketing and Businesses. This has led me into an insane 13 year chase trying to make sense of it all- not just for myself personally, but for other businesses professionally.

I am also a music maker, content  creator, vegetarian for life and sustainable lifestyle believer. I am a sucker for creative, innovative approaches to just about anything.

More importantly, I am a father, a husband, brother and son. This completes me.

What is Chasing The Storm?

What it is not

  • Lipstick, powder, boyfriends/girlfriends, escapades about trips to shopping malls or nuances of the functionality of latest laptop cooling pads. Please. I understand these are life impacting issues to some- but let me just say I am not well-geared  enough to understand them.

Okay… so how do I describe it so the Marketing and agency types could understand?

Think of it as an Ideazine.  Not just a blog, neither just a resource with tutorials like “5 ways to clean your windows registry”.Think of it as a magazine. Not the shiny glossy paper one featuring red mini skirts, naughty eyes and tips on being a tiger in bed. Neither the heavy duty stuff that only Stephen Covey would understand.

It covers memes, achievements, ideas and good (sometimes heated) conversation.

I do not pose to know everything. Or weave a solution. I am hungry myself. And know what it feels to be hungry. We all feed each other here. And the meal is fresh, varied and full of vitamins.

It attempts to be an anthology. Of conversations- that attempt to get beyond the ordinary. Of opinions and opinion shapers. Of those who take a different path. Of  Storm Chasers.

Erm…how about site statistics? The metrics and numbers? And WHO is chasing the storm?

Both questions in this one simple answer: The site does not have millions of general readers. Just a handful of storm chasers- but those who shape the thinking of others. People who chase an idea and make it happen- entrepreneurs who are now small but will someday change the rules of the game. People working 9 to 9- but raring to do something big…at some stage of their lives. Bloggers- whose  word spreads like fire on tequila at the bar table. Real Marketers- whose quest for ideas and memes is forever unsatiated. ‘Grown up’ folks- who just like a good read- and spread it amongst their own likes. And then sometimes like wildfire. The game changers. And then there is YOU. Who are you? Ask yourself- and then let me know if you are any different. I’ll add to the list.

CTS, however, has about 1500 pageviews a month, a high pagerank of 4- higher than many older blogs covering wider topics, loving feed and newsletter subscribers- about 400 at last count, frequently linked to by some prominent web properties abetted by my regular contributions to relevant and high standard online publications. Posts index lightning fast with search engines (Sometimes within minutes). Nominated as amongst the most insightful blogs within Singapore. Top three regions sending visitors on the site are South East Asia, USA and India. Contact me if you need any more details. I put efforts in tracking this- and have most relevant numbers.

All what is said above is bad SEO. (No Keyword baiting)- But hey! Good prose supersedes bad SEO. Just like good conversation over whiskey.

More About me

I am based out of Singapore. I’ve spent about 13 years in Digital Media (South Asia- including India and South-East Asia)- right since it all started in this part of the world. Owned, Bought and Earned media- I’ve worked across all these domains, built businesses and teams for great big multinational companies and relished Chasing The Storm throughout this journey. Still hungry.
